Wedding Wednesday: Cufflinks for the men!

2015 was a very special year for bk&leo – not only was it our second year in business, but we got to take on some very meaningful wedding projects, including our first men’s wedding band, a big project remaking an heirloom family piece and my own wedding, which I’d always dreamed of making jewelry for – needless to say, we were busy in the studio this year!

Today we are spotlighting an emblematic jewelry design for our wedding. Eric and my married monogram is BEE, and with our wedding in the Chicago Botanic Gardens, we thought subtle bee details throughout would be sweet (no pun intended!), including some special jewelry pieces (such as the delicate gold bee bracelet for my bridal party!)

I wanted to create a very special gift for some of the most important men of the day, including my husband-to-be, my father, my father-in-law and my brother who celebrated his 29th birthday on our wedding day! I decided to create bee cufflinks using the bee design from my bridal party bracelets, and with an organic, textured background that reminded me of one of one of my favorite spots in the garden: the English Walled Garden.

Scenes from the beautiful English Walled Garden:

It was very special to be able to give such a meaningful and sentimental gift to these important men in my lives, which they will be able to enjoy for years to come.

Thank you Brittany. I wear mine as often as I can and enjoy them very much. I also get many compliments on them.
